A rainy day in a summer city
A brazilian small city located on the the edge of the right side of the country, a coast city where you can see the sea almost wherever you go, the city had it historical great moments such as being a strategic place for the united states in World War II due to its position, but now it's just a city full of controversies, political scandals, and people. And these people, oh god this people, they can be incredibly interesting, incredibly boring, or , just like a spoon, just exist. Inside of all this features the city has two that outcomes all of the others: 1. The name of the City is Natal, which is literally Christmas in english; 2. It's well known as the city of the sun because it's summer almost the entire year. Imagine that: A coastal city, in Brazil, sunny days, amazing right? Not always, sometimes the exacerbated heat irritates, the constant sweat in our foreheads while we try to work is stressing, the huge quantities of cold water that we run to get every hour makes us pee all the time, so yeah, not that great, except when you are free like on the weekends then you go to Ponta Negra Beach play altinha (which is like a circle of people playing with a ball) meet your friends, drink a very cold bear while eating some ginga (a type of fish) with tapioca (common dish here), and after the whole afternoon of sun, beach dive, laughs and great conversations, you order a Açaí and go home. This, this is a work of art. But you know, there are days, that you feel lazy, introvert, you don't want to put a bikini and go be social, you just want to be alone reading a book, playing the sims or watching a series and that's when we thank the unusual rainy days, where it kinda obligates us to stop, think, rest, wonder, reflect... sometimes we get mad because the rain may confuse our routine but honestly deeply inside every hearts that lives here, they thank the rain to make them stop, slow down, breath and allow themselves to be not in the happiest mood, cause honestly the sunny days tries to make us feel happy and good even when we’re not. So the rainy days are a very important moment for a summer city and I love how the excruciating sun makes us value the cold wind and the heavy drops of rain.
